Three Mile Hill

Three Mile Hill are a 3 piece band based in the Shire of Essex, formed around 5 years ago they describe themselves as a folk country band – although they can describe themselves as Acid Jazz, Classic Funk or even Bluegrass at times!

I caught up with Marc, Dan and Jacob as they were getting ready for a gig in the beautiful sunshine at Blake Hall. Mark is the guitarist and by his own admission does some singing, Dan is on the drums and also does some singing and Jacob is on the Banjo and again does some singing.

With around 45 years collective experience Three Mill Hill are a folk style cover band playing songs from Mumford and Sons, Lumineers and Fleetwood Mac. Current favourites of the band our Paradise from George Ezra, When My Time Comes from Dawes and Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac. But a song they all hold dear themselves is Wonderwall by Oasis…

Three Mill Hill is but one iteration of the guys, they also play their own original music as We Are All Fossils (Find them on Apple Music) and Marc is an accomplished solo artist under his own name Marc Halls.

They love playing in out of the ordinary places, a memorable gig was in a sweaty barge in Maldon – but the band is happy to travel outside of Essex and recently played in the South of France. Dan enjoys driving – he says it helps him to switch off…. Not sure that’s the idea Dan!

With a few dates left in 2022, I would urge you to get in contact with the guys if theirs is the style of music you are looking for at your event.

And the name, this came from a road in Essex which the guys travel along to and from gigs.
